An interview with Jack - a farmer who has worked the land around Craigavon. In this series, he talks about the rural history of the area, and his experience of being displaced when the new town of Craigavon was being built in the 1960s.

“… I came to this farm over 60 years ago to help my uncle. He had no children of his own. In the end, I inherited it. Forty-five acres of our land was vested in 1966.

This land was designated for parkland so there was no need to [start building] immediately. I stayed on and farmed as best I could, but eventually the land was lost so I had to find other kinds of work. But I still lived here on the rent for 19 years until they decided there was land on the edge they didn’t need so I bought back the house and 18 acres.”
